Photo of the Tau Kappa Epsilon installation banquet at MSTC, May 1957. Ninety-five members of the Alpha Kappa Delta fraternity were initiated as members into the new Tau Kappa Epsilon chapter. Tau Kappa Epsilon was the largest college social fraternity in terms of number of active groups across the United States. It boasted such famous members as Ronald Reagan and Lawrence Welk.

A 1962 issue of the Tau Kappa Epsilon newsletter, “Teke Talk,” prepared by fraternity members. Greek organizations thrived on the Minot campus during the 1960s. Mu Sigma Tau was recognized as the largest independent fraternity in the state with 2,000 members. There was also one new fraternity, Sigma Tau Gamma, formed in 1965.
